Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation 2008 Business Review

In 2008, SEDCO assisted IBERDROLA, World Leader in Renewable Energy, to develop Locust Ridge Wind Farm II comprising an additional 51 turbines adjacent to the existing Mahanoy Township site. The project was in the permit acquisition stage toward the end of 07 and is now in full development.

Solar Innovations, Inc. has substantially completed construction of their new, state of the art, manufacturing and assembly facility in the Pine Grove Industrial Park. The company will double their production capacity and create 48 new jobs in addition to their existing 58 person workforce. SEDCO administered a $1.68 million PIDA loan to assist with the development of new facility. Total project cost is $9.7 million. The company plans to be fully operational by mid 2009. << read more >>
