I'm heading to the Philadelphia Flower Show today with family and friends! So naturally I'm thinking about plans for my garden. If you're also a garden lover you might want to consider becoming a Master Gardener. Make a note to attend the "Meet the Master Gardeners" gathering on Wednesday, March 22 from 6;30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Held at the Schuylkill County Ag Center, 1202 Ag Center Drive, Pottsville (just off Gordon Nagle Trail) the Schuylkill Master Gardeners will share more about the program which consists of classes in a variety of gardening subjects as well as community activities. Classes will begin in late August. Reserve your seat by contacting the Master Gardeners at firstname.lastname@example.org or 570-622-4225 Ext. 13.
If you're starting to think garden you might think about this for your garden -- certifying it as a Pollinator Garden. You have plenty of time to tweak your garden and ensure it's pollinator friendly since certification isn't due until September 1. Everyone who registers will be eligible to win one of five pollinator baskets. Check out the certification form at http://ento.psu.edu/pollinatora/public-outreach/cert
