For most of us May seems ages away. For college seniors casting their nets out into the job market, May, graduation, and the real world are just around the corner. So a big thanks to Alexa Kramer of Schuylkill Headwaters who sent an opportunity for graduating senior my way. AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer to Service in America) is advertising for an Outreach and Education Coordinator to begin this Spring based in Pottsville. It's January 4 and if you haven't made a new year's resolution the pressure of being back to school and countless people asking, "Made any new year's resolutions?" will probably force you into a hasty (and impossible to successfully complete) resolution. Instead why don't we all resolve to compete something fun and easy this year. Let's all try one new thing each month. That's only twelve things! They could be long ranging things like "In May I will plant a vegetable garden and as a result, eat some more fresh vegetables." while others can be one offs like "I will attend a performance at a venue in Schuylkill County that is new to me."
