I used to walk every day with a friend of mine but different work schedules have forced us to soldier on alone. Let me tell you, it's a lot easier to say "Not today" to yourself than it is to a friend. If you need some outside help too, you may need an exercise buddy. People in the Schuylkill Haven area can join the Indoor Walking Club that meets at the Schuylkill Haven Center, 340 Haven Street, Schuylkill Haven on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Call 570-624-3018. Even if you aren't from the Schuylkill Haven area you might want to touch base with them to see how their group works and organize one in YOUR area. Exercise is easier with a buddy...or two...or twenty. If you are starting (or continuing) a walking program save October 28, the date of VISION's annual Zombie 5K Run/Walk. It's great to have a goal and this is a fun goal to have!
There are so many free musical performances this week I'm amazed! So grab your lawn chair and don't let summer slip by while you're inside watching reruns or folding laundry.
