Creepy, Halloween-y events used to take up a weekend...maybe a week...in October. But lately we've been going Halloween crazy! So much so that the frights begin before we even hit October 1! What not start off the Scare Season with a Haunted Walking Tour of Pottsville? The walks will leave from the Historical Society at 6 p.m. every Saturdays from September 30 to October 28. But please arrive by 5:45 p.m.! The one mile walk takes a little over an hour and tickets are $10 and $5 for children ages 7 though 12 (not recommended for those under age 7). Space is limited, so reserve your spot by contacting the Historical Society at 570-622-7540.
If you'd like to enjoy a little history without the ghosts and goblins why not visit the Frackville Museum for their Open house on October 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Donald Bricker will do a presentation at 2 p.m. on "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow". If you haven't been there yet, the museum is int he Frackville Municipal & community Center, 42 S. Center Street.
