My daughter and I were just remembering when she first got her car and gas was $3+ -- she thought "That's it. I'll never be able to afford to go anywhere." Well, next weekend she's off to Lititz and last weekend she went to the movies in Reading. So hooray for lower gas prices!
Lucky for her she doesn't see the grocery bill. Because prices go up and up and up...and they never go back down like gas does. If you know someone who is having a tough time with their grocery bill or just needs some new ideas on how to make nutritious meals without breaking the bank, tell
them about "Eat Right When Money Is Tight". This five week program (you don't have to attend all five sessions but if you do you get a prize!) is organized by Penn State Extension Nutrition and will be held at the Frackville Free Public Library, 56 North Lehigh Street from noon to 2 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 16. The workshop will cover a wide variety of topics including budgets, cooking safety and making healthy choices. Those attending will even get to prepare and taste a new recipe at each session. So educational and delicious! what more could you ask for from a workshop?
