Are you ready to change the world? It can begin with something as simple as a bright orange vest and a garbage bag. Join Schuylkill Keep It Pretty (SKIP) for their annual spring Clean Up and you can see how individuals can change the world by making it a more beautiful place. This year's Spring Clean Up is from April 21 to April 24 and you can select an area important to you or your group as your "spot" to clean. You can receive those vests and bags by registering at SKIP using this form. You have to mail your form to SKIP by Thursday, March 31 and pick up your supplies at one of several spots throughout the county. The only catch is, in order to be picked up, your garbage bags must be dropped on the shoulder of a Pennsylvania State Highway. This is a great way for your family, scout troop, church group, co-workers or friends to spend an hour or two.
Every once in a while I have a day where I come home growling for someone to get me the heating pad for my poor aching back. If you suffer from back pain stop by the Schuylkill Rehabilitation Center, 300 Schuylkill Medical Plaza, Pottsville on Wednesday, March 30 at 6 p.m. for Low Back Pain: Non-Surgical Interventions. The free lecture will be given by Ali A. Shah, M.D., M.S., board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and Jen Herndon, LPT, a licensed physical therapist.
