New York may have Shakespeare in the Park but Schuylkill County has Shakespeare at the Mansion (Yuengling Mansion, that is). If the last time you experienced Shakespeare was when you and your fellow classmates were stumbling over the thine and withal and beseeming of Romeo and Juliet in a high school English class perhaps it's time to revisit him in a new way. Live and in person! Schuylkill Free Shakespeare is performing Much Ado About Nothing and The Tragedy of Macbeth at the Schuylkill County Council for the Arts this weekend.
Catch Much Ado About Nothing on Friday, July 21 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 23 at 4 p.m. The Tragedy of Macbeth will be on Saturday July 22 and Sunday, July 23 at 8 p.m. Much Ado About Nothing is a comedy that brings together two couples, love, arguments and all the fun that goes along with them. The Tragedy of Macbeth is about a man who wants to be king and will do just about anything to reach that goal -- things do not go as he planned (when do they ever?)
The performances are free but check out their website and Facebook since they occasionally have fundraisers -- including some really cool Shakespeare t-shirts.
