If you want an amazing sale, visit on Saturday for the Bag Sale. The folks from The Republican-Herald will sell you a bag for $6 and then you get to cram it with as many books as fit. You could end up paying 25 cents or less per book! But if have a special title, popular author or a category that sells quickly (large print, local interest, history, sci-fi/fantasy) on your list, stop by on Friday for a better chance of finding just what you want. The nonfiction is sorted into categories (humor, gardening, religion, parenting, cookbooks, woodworking, sports, etc.) while the fiction is sorted by author's last name (as well as special sections for large print, romance, Christian novels, westerns, sci-fi/fantasy and children's). There are also audiobooks, DVDs, videotapes, even the occassional LP!
Organized by The Republican Herald, the sale will be held at the Schuylkill Mall this Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. As an extra added bonus, every book you purchase will help the Newspaper in Education program which provides newspapers to local schools to use in the classroom.
