Check out a few of the hikes happening this month.

Thursday, August 9
Meet at north end of Wal Mart parking lot at 10:30 am for this 7 mile hike rated difficult. Led by Robin Tracey this hike will go to Wolf Creek Falls. Bring a lunch, dogs must be on a leash and friendly to dogs and people. Space is limited. You must register at 570-467-2506

Saturday, August 11
Meet at Swatara State Park for this 3 mile hike rated moderate. Mike Centeleghe will lead you on a Swatara State Park Stroll from 1 pm to 4 pm

Saturday, August 18
Meet at Crow Trail parking lot in Tuscarora State Park at 10:30 am for a 8 mile hike rated moderate. Robin Tracey will lead you across the dam breast. Bring a lunch, dogs must be on a leash and friendly to dogs and people.

Sunday, August 19
Meet at 901 Pub on Old Airport Road at 8 am for this 8 mile hike rated moderate. Hiker Jim will lead you on a shady hike that follows the stream to a waterfall. Bit rocky in spots.

​Sunday, August 19
Meet at upper beach parking lot of Tuscarora State Park at 11 a.m. for this 4.5 mile hike rated moderate. "Pap" Knauss will lead a search for late summer wildflowers. Bring a lunch and leashed dogs that are friendly to other dogs AND people.

Sunday, August 26
Meet at St. Joseph's church, North Line Street, Frackville at 2 pm for a 3 mile hike rated easy. John Domalakes will show you the grave of Frackville founder Daniel Frack as well as an overlook of the Mahanoy valley.

Wednesday, August 29
Meet at Pennsylvania Anthracite Miners Memorial, Main & Aashington Streets, Shenandoah at 10:15 am for a 5 mile hike rated moderate.  Robin Tracey will lead a hike  to Peddler's Grave and the Greenie, including the site of the first recorded murder in Schuylkill County. ​ Bring a lunch and leashed dogs that are friendly to other dogs AND people.
