Schuylkill on the Move

​​The mission of Schuylkill on the Move is bring together those with an interest in promoting health and fitness through walking.

Schuylkill On The Move is a county-wide grassroots organization of individuals and organizations who have an interest in promoting health and fitness through walking.
Our Goals include:
  • Assisting local communities with establishing walking programs for their residents
  • Advocating for walkable communities
  • Encouraging people to take positive steps towards good health

Schuylkill on the Move hikes continue all year round. Lace up your walking shoes and join us.

June Hikes

Trail Birds at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary
Hawk Mountain naturalists and special guest, Thomas Koger, will lead a guided walk to discover what birds can be found along the Lookout Trail. Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Trail fee applies for non-members. FREE for members. Registration limited to 15 participants. Click here to register.

Vernal Pool and Wildflower Hike
Join Naturalist Robin Tracey from Tuscarora State Park for a hike at the Landingville Marsh on Sunday, June 12, 2022. The trail is 4 miles in length and easy. We will hike around the marsh looking for wildflowers and critters in the marsh and vernal pools. We will make a stop at the Auburn Dam. We will meet at the Advanced Auto Parts store in the Cressona mall parking lot to carpool to the site at 10:30 am. The hike starts at 11 a.m. Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed and get along with other dogs and people. Contact Robin at 570-467-2506 to register. Shine only.

Rainbow Trail Days at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary

9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Celebrate and show off your pride at Hawk Mountain!
All visitors that wear a rainbow on clothing or accessories will receive half off their trail admission. Current members that show their pride and support will receive a 15% discount on most merchandise.

Summer Meadow Walk
Join Master Naturalist Gordon Bosler as we explore the meadow near the Acopian Center for summer butterflies and insects. We will also search for birds common to meadow ecosystem. Sunday, June 26th from 11 until noon. Cost is $15.00 for nonmembers. $10 for members. Limited to 10 participants. Click here to register.
