- Is a group of faith and health leaders in Schuylkill County
- Believes in the call to help our neighbors
- Is dedicated to the improvement of the health of Schuylkill County residents
- Provides linkages with community health resources and congregational health programs
- Supports preventative health care
- Receiving wellness and prevention information for publication in congregational news
- Partnering in bringing health-related programs to the community
- Care of neighbor is a call for all people of faith
- Schuylkill County has a number of significant health problems
- Prevention and community-based education are important ways to address these issues
- Congregations are natural centers for communities
- Health is a matter of body, mind, and spirit
- Lifestyle decisions account for over 50% of health status
- Health issues cut across all lines: economic, social, ethnic, religious, age, gender
What do we do?
- Provide health information for congregational newsletters
- Coordinate events that address significant health issues in Schuylkill County by linking congregations to health resources
- Partner with VISION’s Schuylkill on the Move to bring walking programs to the county
- Partner with VISION’s Mental Health Committee and Suicide Task Force to support community mental health programs
- Provide Interfaith programs
- Respond to health needs in Schuylkill County in many other ways
