Physical Activity
Physical activity is known as any movement produced by our muscles that requires energy. This can be from casual walking to playing sports. Being physically active is proven to help prevent non-communicable diseases, such as heart disease and many cancers.
Schuylkill County offers many recreational parks that allows for people from all over to enjoy the outdoors and be active. To find trails and outdoor spaces in your neighborhood visit the maps page at Explore Schuylkill.
While there are many walking trails for the nicer, sunny weather, not everyone can get to a walking trail. There are plenty of things you can do outside, like going swimming or running around on the jungle gym. Whatever it may be there are plenty of things you can do at the park or in your backyard during the summer!

You can also visit the many walking paths located in Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, and Schuylkill Haven to visit some of the many landmark sites in Schuylkill County, like Locust Lake State Park in Barnesville, PA.
Not every day is sunny or maybe you don't feel like leaving the house that day. Whatever the case, there are plenty of ways to stay active while indoors. You could:
